Katatumba passed away yesterday Thursday morning at the Kampala International Hospital after undergoing an operation for colon cancer.
The 70 year old renowned tycoon succumbed to pneumonia and asthma according to his family.

“During his tenure as Honorary Consul, Dr Katatumba was a very active member of the diplomatic and consular Corps in Uganda and had made an invaluable contribution to the strengthening of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uganda,” said Minister Oryem.
“He further played a key role in deepening understanding and cooperation between the people of our two countries. On behalf of the entire staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we wish to convey our deepest condolences to his family, the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as well as to the entire diplomatic and consular corps in Uganda. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
