Body of Rotarian Owori to Arrive at Midnight, Flight delayed

There has been delay in the flight that was meant to bring the body of the late Rotarian Sam Owori.

His remains were meant to arrive at Entebbe Airport today at 3pm, however, he will be arriving later at midnight.

While addressing the press at Airport View hotel in Entebbe, Rotary District Governor Ken Mugisha, said that the plane in which the late was to arrive got a mechanical default.

“Currently the body is in Istanbul and another plane has been arranged to bring the body,” Mugisha explained to the media.

He went on to explain that the body will be arriving on Turkish airlines and that the program will remain the same as it was.

More Rotary dignitaries are expected to arrive including the Rotary International Vice President.

Rotarian Owori passed away two weeks ago from Dallas, Texas in the United States while under an operation on his leg, during which his blood pressure dropped suddenly.

Rotarian Owori was a celebrated banker and a top Ugandan Rotarian who had been elected President of Rotary International for the term of 2018/19 unfortunately he died before swearing in.

He was the 108th president-elect of the Rotary International (RI) and was going to be the first ever Ugandan and second African Rotary President.

Samuel Owori will finally be laid to rest on Saturday July 29 at Kidera in Tororo.
