Batambuze takes on an AFC Leopards player in previous match

Tusker FC are the champions elect of the 2016 Kenya Premier League following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over AFC Leopards on Sunday afternoon at the Nakuru stadium.

The Paul Nkata coached side earned the win through Uganda Cranes trialist Shafik Batambuze who struck in a low shot from a 68th minute corner.

The win moves the brewers to a an assailable 57 points with one match to complete the season against defending champions GorMahia FC who have 51 points.

Nkata had earlier scooped the GOTV shield, more about a national cup competition in Kenya.

Ugandan Quartet
Coach Nkata gave starting berths to Ugandan quartet Shafik Batambuze, approved Hashim Sempala, Robert Omunuk and defender Martin Kiiza.

Omunuk was substituted after the interval for John Macharia. Ramadhan Yakubu and Allan Katerega featured for the Leopards.
