Forum for Democratic Change party stalwart Dr Kizza Besigye on Sunday paid a courtesy call on Nakawa MP Michael Kabaziguruka, who is admitted at Kampala Hospital in Kololo.
The MP suffered a double fracture in his right leg after an ambulance vehicle he was driving had a head on collision on Jinja Road on Sunday morning.
It is reported that the MP had bought the car as a donation to his constituents.
Both Dr Besigye and Kabaziguruka are facing trial over treason.
Kabaziguruka, alongside 21 others were in June last year tried before the General Court Martial chaired by Lt General Andrew Gutti for treason.
Prosecution told court that between February and June 2016, the suspects plotted to overthrow the government by force of arms. The military suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.
On his part, Kabaziguruka declined to enter any plea, saying the General court martial didn’t have jurisdiction to try him since he is civilian.
Dr Besigye is in a similar but unconnected trial at the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court on allegations of inciting Ugandans to over throw the government.
He is also accused of declaring himself as president of Uganda after claiming to have won the February 18 presidential elections.
