However,  Besigye who looked and sounded angry told the Chief Magistrate that continued adjournment was affecting him financially and in terms of time spent coming to court asking that the case be halted  until prosecution finalizes with  investigations and then he resumes coming to court.

Speaking to journalists shortly after  the session, the former FDC presidential candidate said he was weighing in on defying  court and he stops attending for there was nothing meaningful in coming every time.

“For more than 5 months now, there is no evidence against me. I am going to look into it and see if I can continue coming here. I am about to protest coming to this court,” Besigye said.

He however noted he would continue fulfilling the bail conditions set by  High Court’s justice Wilson Musene Masalu .

The opposition strongman was in July released by the Kampala high Court on bail after spending more than a month in prison.

He had been arrested in May and detained in Moroto before being charged for treason when he issued a video recording in which he swore himself as president of Uganda.
