Besigye Arrested in Kampala; To be Charged

Police says Besigye will charged with disobeying lawful orders

Police have Wednesday afternoon arrested Forum for Democratic Change former Presidential Candidate Col. Dr Kizza Besigye in the heart of Kampala.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango told us when contacted that the opposition strongman was being driven to Nagalama Police station.

According to reports, advice Besigye was headed for Lunch Hour Prayers at Christ the King Church, but decided to branch off to down town Kampala to buy some clothes.

Onyango told us Police will open up charges of disobeying lawful orders on Dr Besigye.

He also emphasized that Besigye did not escape from his house in Kasangati; but refused to clarify on whether there was an agreement between him and police officers to leave his house.
