The ongoing commission of inquiry into land matters has ordered the arrest of a senior registrar of titles in the ministry of lands.
Ajara Ataro who had come to testify before the commission chaired by Lady Justice Catherine Bamugemereire was accused of disrespecting the members as she answered queries in regards to issuance of land titles.
“You have been lying to us since yesterday. Am going to order those men to take you to Wandegeya police station,” Bamugemereire said.
“Please follow those people; you should know we are not here to waste time.”
Earlier Ataro had been forced to apologise for disrespecting the commission in the way she responded to questions.
She was being questioned on the way she issues titles without first visiting the actual land in question.
The land commission has shown disdain on many occasions in the way wetlands and forest reserves are given away to private individuals.
