Bail Application Considered as FDC Fundraises for Omusinga Trail

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) together with leaders from Kasese have launched a fundraising drive to raise money that will help in ensuring justice for the Omusinga wa Rwenzururu Charles Wisely Muberere and other suspects who were arrested over the recent attacks in Kasese.

“As leaders from Kasese we have launched a fundraising campaign for justice and we call upon all Ugandans who believe in justice to join us in this cause, there ” Kiiza said.

“We call upon lawyers to join us to join us too, the civil society and all the people because this is no longer one man’s struggle but a struggle for us all as Ugandans,”

Kiiza noted on Wednesday that the group has already assembled a team of 15 lawyers who will stand in defense for the Omusinga and other suspects to ensure that they achieve justice.

“For the meantime, all contributions are to be sent to 0758986661 and soon an account number shall be opened up which will as well be made public.”

Kiiza also revealed that they are current considering bail application for the Omusinga before December 13 when he will be appearing before Court again.

Responding to the call by some religious leaders and civil society organization to engage in dialogue with government, Kiiza noted that the people of Kasese resolved to only engage in talks after the release of their king and his subjects.
