Baboon Forest Gives Hope to Heart Patients

Tooro Kingdom has offered 500 university bursaries to students hailing from the Kingdom for the academic year 2015/2016.

The move is intended to further promote and uplift education standards in the Kingdom.

Addressing a press conference at his office at Mucwa Palace, the Premier said that King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV was looking forward to promoting education and taking it as priority.

He said, “The bursaries are given to students qualifying to study at Uganda Pentecostal University, Mountains of the Moon University, Uganda martyrs’ University, Fort Portal Branch and other institutions of higher learning in Kabarole District.”

However, Kaliba said the bursaries are only targeting students offering business or science courses or Masters’ degrees adding that the bursary covers the entire course.

He also said, “Plans to open Tooro Royal University of Science and Technology are under way for this year, 2015. It will open after getting accreditation by the National Council for Higher Education.”

Kaliba added, “This University will be promoting science studies and will be located at Mucwa Kingdom headquarters. It would operate under the Queen Mother Best Foundation which started last year after being launched by President Museveni”.

A Burundian pastor attached to Communal Pentecostal Church in Kampala is being held at Mbarara Central Police Station over allegations of attempting to murder his wife.

Baliika accused the wife of committing adultery with a man she had earlier claimed was her uncle.

After the arrest, the pastor who admitted to have stabbed Atuhaire, said that neighbors had told him several times about his an affair his wife was having with another man but that he had dismissed the talk as rumors until he found her with the man in his home after returning from an evangelical mission.

Pastor Baliika asked Police to forgive him saying that he had acted out of anger.

However, Mbarara Police Station OC, Jaffar Magyezi stressed that the accused was to be taken to court and be charged with attempted murder to serve as an example to others.

Magyezi further advised men to resolve their family issues with the Police or Courts of Laws instead of beating their women which contravenes the law.

Atuhaire is now admitted at Mbarara Referral Hospital in a critical condition.

The Diaspora-based political party’s publicist, Vincent Magombe said, “Free Uganda will not be intimidated by this heinous aggression and harassment.”

He further added that, “The monstrous statement by Museveni spokesman that General Sejusa is safer under confinement is absolute trash and is condemned by Free Uganda in all categorical terms.”

In a statement to Chimpreports on Saturday morning, Magombe said “The General has been in contact with his Free Uganda senior leaders and wishes to inform all that his determination and resoluteness will not be broken by these fruitless manoeuvres.”

“He asks all the People of Uganda to stand up to this corrupt and repressive regime, whose journey is coming to an end.”

Magombe said, “The Country and the whole world are being informed of this wanton disregard of the constitutional rights of General Sejusa, and Free Uganda will not rest until its Chairman is set Free. Arresting the Free Uganda Chairman will only help to speed up the liberation of our Motherland Uganda.”

Army spokesperson, Lt Col Paddy Ankunda yesterday said there is “no cause of alarm” and that Sejusa’s human rights would not be abused.

Government publicist, Ofwono Opondo lashed at Sejusa, warning him that the “days of naked impunity by military officers in Uganda is long gone, if Gen Sejusa had forgotten UPDF disciplined force.”

He added: “Renegade and bellicose Gen David Sejusa has been put under confinement by the UPDF, and he is safer that way.”

Baboon Forest Entertainment that manages a number of top local Hip-Hop artists including Namagwatala singer, malady http://changescale.org/wp-includes/post-formats.php GNL Zamba is joining the bandwagon of doing music for a good cause for the community. They are planning a fundraising drive for the Uganda Heart Institute.

Under this Campaign, this several artists under the label and their friends will perform at several events for free so that the proceeds go towards the Institute at Mulago Hospital.

This comes merely days after renowned local comedian and entertainer; Kato Lubwama was flown out to India for a medical operation after it was found out that the kind of attention he needed could not be procured locally.

Despite the large donations and allocations that the Institute has received in the past years, it still remains deficient of some of the most important equipment and resources to handle some heart cases.

It is on this basis that the Baboon Forest has kicked off the campaign that they have dubbed, Hip-Hop Atuyambe.

It is said that the drive will be managed by GNL’s American girlfriend, Miriam Wertlieb.
