AUPL: We Must Beat Soana, says Ssimbwa

International Community of Banyakigezi (ICOB) annual convention for this year has been called off at the last minute due to the impending general elections.

The event was supposed to start on Sunday 27th running to 30th December 2015 in Kabale District at White Horse Inn, view under the theme “Taking ICOB to Kabale Community: Fighting illiteracy and ill-health through Wealth Creation”.

Major activities during the convention would include Gorilla Marathon, cultural performances, exhibitions, conducting MCH health camps, Walk for the mother and a joint ecumenical service.

Ruth Ndyabahika the ICOB President revealed that they decided to call off the convection that brings together people from the Kigezi region in the Diaspora, for fear that it would be hijacked and turned into a political field by candidates

“We decided to avoid getting involved in yet another political saga. ICOB is already being mislabeled as a political machine, and yet we are 100% apolitical. A convention in December would have been hijacked and instead turned into a political field, going out of our control so we have postponed to after elections,” she said.

Two of the presidential candidates John Patrick Amama Mbabazi of the Go-forward and  Rtd. Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye come from the Kigezi districts of Kanungu and Rukungiri respectively.

The convention for the year 2011 too was suspended on the same grounds.

After a heartbreaking Boxing Day 3-2 defeat to URA FC, KCCA FC travels to Kavumba hopeful of raking maximum points against 9th placed Soana fc.

The two teams have clashed only four times in the league, viagra dosage sharing the same proportion of success and failure.

All the four fixtures have produced decent competition – either sides winning with at least three goals but the Kasasiro boys hold the record 4-0 win registered a year ago in December.

Soana lost 0-4 last time out at Kakindu courtesy of 4-star Richard Wandyaka’s goals. The Kavumba side have picked only five points out of a possible fifteen.

KCCA FC are still the undisputed league leaders with 28 points and are likely to close the first leg on summit unless they loose and Police gains maximum points away to Villa.

Coach Sam Ssimbwa hints on several changes and is most likely to relegate keeper Benjamin Ochan after a poor show in Lugazi.

“We are likely to do a few changes in the squad but we will maintain our attacking zeal against Soana. We respect them but we go into the game with no option but to win, salve ” Ssimbwa said.
