Vipers secured a convincing 2-1 win against fellow title contenders KCCA in a game played at Nakivubo stadium on Friday.

Goals from Tony Odur and Deus Bukenya in the first half ensured Vipers attained all the three points in the top of the table clash and also stretch the unbeaten streak against KCCA in the league to five games before Geoffrey Sserunkuma pulled one back for the visitors.

Vipers started explosively with Brian Kakaire delivering a low cross into the KCCA box but Ochaya stepped up to clear an early scare.

The hosts continued to pile pressure on the league leaders and Tony Odur gave Vipers a deserved lead with a cool finish in the 14th minute off Brian Kakaire’s fine delivery.

Hassan Wasswa came close to scoring four minutes later but he failed to find the target with goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan already beaten.

It was Deus Bukenya who doubled the lead for Vipers with a powerful shot just outside the penalty box that went straight into the left corner of the goal.
