URA FC 2-1 UPDF FC
Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club began their campaign on a high note, picking maximum points against UPDF FC.
In the game played at Mandela National stadium, URA FC proved a better side winning the game 2-1.
A goal in either half from defender Fred Okot and Bokota Labama ensured the tax collectors sailed past UPDF FC despite Walter Rubabgkene pulling one back for the visitors.
There was a scare midway through the game with URA FC striker Henry Kisekka rushed to hospital unconscious.
Kisekka was involved in an aerial challenge with defender Joseph Othieno in the 22nd minute and got a concussion.He was replaced by Dennis Kamanzi.
Fred Okot opened the scores at the stroke of halftime tapping Brian Majwega’s ground cross to put URA FC ahead.
Eight minutes into the second half, Bokota Labama doubled the lead for the home side with a clinical finish just outside the area.
UPDF coach Moses Basena made changes introducing Lule Jimmy and Derrick Walulya.
Walter Rubabgkene pulled one back for the visitors with a superb header in the 74th minute.
However, URA FC held off the pressure in the final quarter to bag all three points.
