AUPL: Safety on Sight as Saints Host Relegated Maroons

A victory over Maroons will secure Saints safety

The Saints FC could confirm their topflight status on Friday evening at Namboole if they pick maximum points against already relegated Maroons FC.

The two go head to head for the third time with Maroons boasting an upper hand after picking two previous outright wins. The prisons side beat Saints to the Fufa big league trophy last season and one of the only two wins the relegated side has picked in the top flight.

The Saints come into the game at the back of two consecutive victories against fellow debutants JMC Hippos and a classic 2-0 over SC Villa away at Nakivubo where George Senkaaba collected a brace.

Maroons have not picked a point in any of their five outings and are up against a team that has lost only one of their last seven games at home.

Saints have accumulated 33 points from 27 games and they require two more to confirm their safety while Maroons have 16, health less than half their hosts tally.

The coffee spirit side remains with fellow relegation candidates Simba and champions Vipers to deal with both on away.
