AUPL: Renewal of Acquaintance as SC Villa Face Bright Stars

Azam Uganda Premier League returns on Tuesday after a two months’ break with seven fixtures that kick start the second round of the 2016/17 season.

The highlight of the game will be the return of former skipper Bernard Muwanga and Joseph Nsubuga who left Bright stars for SC Villa at the start of the season.

Nsubuga and Muwanga return to the champions stadium for the first time and will turn the guns against their former employers.

The pair played an integral role at Bright stars for over five years forming the core of an impenetrable defence for the Kawempe based side.

On the other side, diagnosis Bright stars first choice goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato will be facing his former team. The lanky shot stopper joined Bright stars from SC Villa at the start of the season.

SC Villa

SC Villa will be without midfielder Abdu Malik Vitalis Tabu who is serving a club suspension for absconding from training.

New signing Emmanuel Okwi is expected to make his debut in the third spell at SC Villa ahead of Alex Kitata and Umar Kasumba.

Burundian goalkeeper Arthur Arakaza is not yet cleared to play and either Samson Kirya or Bugembe Ashadu will start in goal.

Bright stars

There are no major injury concerns for head coach Kajjoba Fred but he will have a task to select who replaces Baker Lukooya who moved to Soana.

Midfielder Yubu Bogere will not play today because he is on loan from SC Villa and thus cannot play against his parent club.

SC Villa won 5-3 when the two sides met in the first round at Mandela National stadium. However, SC Villa’s last visit to Mwererwe ended in a 1-0 loss.

Bright stars occupy 7th position with 20 points while SC Villa are second on the logo on 31 points, one behind leaders KCCA FC.
