AUPL: Rejuvenated Police FC Aim to Resume on a High

Police football club has been one of the busiest clubs during the January mid transfer season signing about ten players ahead of the second round.

This prompted the club management to make a comprehensive recruitment including bringing a new coach in Abdallah Mubiru to replace Sam Timbe who resigned.

Mubiru after winning his first game in charge against Maroons in the Uganda cup, page he believes the morale can transit to the Uganda premier league as the team fights to survive relegation.

“I believe we have assembled a good team, the players are committed and fully motivated to deliver,” Mubiru said.

His first task will be against Sadolin Paints at Nakivubo stadium on Tuesday and Mubiru expects a positive start.

“It is a tricky game, Sadolin are a boggy side and hard to breakdown but I have the confidence we shall put up the desired performance to get a positive result,” he added.

The new signings that include Hakim Ssenkumba, Michael Birungi and Martin Mpuuga among others are expected to make their debuts against Sadolin Paints.

Sadolin Paints on the other hand have maintained the core of the team that played in the first round apart from goalkeeper Franco Olinga who joined Soana and midfielder Robert Achema  who moved to BUL.

New arrivals Karim Ndugwa and Baker Yunus are available for selection against Police.

Police have never lost to Sadolin Paints in the league in the 5 meetings, winning four and drawing once.

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 1-0 win for Police in Bugembe.

Police are 13th on the table with 14 points while Sadolin Paints occupy 10th position on 17 points.
