Uganda Premier League newcomers, sick http://cotro.com/wp-includes/functions.wp-styles.php Onduparaka proved they will be a hard nut crack after earning a point off Express in the game played at Muteesa II stadium, discount Wankulukuku on Tuesday.
Towering defender Rashid Toha also christened “Mertesaker” scored the caterpillars’ maiden goal in the league to salvage a point against the Red eagles who had taken the lead through John Ssemazi.
After a dull first half that saw either side play a cautious game and squander chances, both teams returned to the pitch recharged after recess with Ssemazi breaking the deadlock for the home side in the 46th minute.
Ssemazi jumped high to head home Mike Mutyaba’s corner just after recess to give Express the lead.
The red eagles then created several chances but failed to utilise them.
The caterpillars then levelled matters at the hour mark when lanky defender Toha jumped high to head Gaddafi Wahab’s free kick into the net.
The visitor’s then picked momentum pilling pressure on the Express defence until the referee called for fulltime whistle.
Leo Ardra, the Onduparaka head coach was happy with the result and he believes it will motivate the team in their next games.
“A point against a great and big side like Express is important, we went down but remained focused and pushed them until we scored.” said Ardra after the game.
