Joshua Kawadwa’s hour strike was enough for Bright Stars to claim a point over Kirinya Jinja SSS FC in a tight end to end match played at Bugembe stadium in Jinja.

Edward Kakembo had earlier on fired the school boys up in the first minute of added time in the first half. The youngster picked the ball inside a melee that arose from a low cross from Musa Magumba which Kasonko flicked inside a the 12 yards.

Kakembo picked up dummied Asiimwe and planted in the far left post beyond Sebwato’s stretch.

Coach Kajoba introduced Kokas Opejo for defender Andrew Kagwa at the start of the second period to supplement on the attack force.

Opejo’s arrival brought new life to the game especially in the left wing with his second touch flying through to Kawadwa whose thumping header was tipped over the bar for a corner.

He returned with a freekick in the 60th minute bending the ball round the three man defence but Allan Male’s first time header was denied Kawooya’s slide. Kawadwa tapped in the floating rebound.

Kirinya bombarded the Stars defense with successive attacks but the visitors were keen to ‘pack the bus’ and deny all efforts.
