He welcomed them into the regular service of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces.
This was during the Army Council meeting held at State House, Entebbe.
The new Army Officers, who took the oath of allegiance to serve their country are; Tugume Evans, Kirya Zakaliya, Odongo Jeje Benedicto, Okwany Sam, Kisawuzi Ssenkaaba Simon and Opio Odida Joshua.
State House said in a statement seen by ChimpReports that the officers attended and completed their training course abroad.
“Four of them did a three year course in Kenya and two in Tanzania,” reads the statement in part.
The agenda of army council’s meeting remains unclear.
But it came at a time when the defense ministry is finalizing the army’s budget for the next financial year.
It also follows a series of procurement scandals in the ministry.
