A security source told ChimpReports that the assailants killed two guards and a cook who had just arrived to prepare breakfast for the students.

They later descended on the bursar’s office before stealing all the money kept therein.

The shocking incident has triggered panic in the greater western Uganda with fears of rebels operating from the area.

The attack comes against the backdrop of attacks on police stations, military facilities and coup threats.

A shadowy rebel movement has previously used social media platforms to claim responsibility for the assaults.

Bishop McAllister College Kyogyera is a private mixed school that was founded by the Anglican Diocese of West Ankole in 1983.

It offers “O” and “A” level education and also recently started a primary section that is Bishop McAllister Anglican Seminary.

The school is located 40 kilometers along Mbarara-Bushenyi highway.
