Angry Residents Close Bukakata Road

Residents of Bukakata, viagra sale http://christiansforve.org.au/wp-includes/class-wp-text-diff-renderer-table.php a lakeside trading center in Masaka district this morning staged a violent demonstration, order closing down their main road.

The locals were protesting what they called inaction by the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) following destruction of their road by heavy rains.

The road, which is the only link to the ferry that connects the main land to Tsetse Islands on Lake Victoria, was washed away by the heavy downpour a few days ago.

The locals after waiting in vain for a team from UNRA today staged a demonstration and closed the road with blockades cutting off all traffic to the ferry.

UNRA officials when contacted, told us that preparations are underway to resolve the challenge on this road.

The Regions chief engineer Jimmy Oduek told us on phone, “We were supposed to have gone there last week but we had procurement challenges. These have been handled and any time this week we shall be rectifying this challenge.”

Alan Ssempebwa from UNRA’s public relations office also told us that there are bigger plans to expand the road, which partly explains the delayed reaction.

“Even as we speak now, a team of our officials are meeting with some of the locals in the area discussing a number of issues including compensation for those that will be affected by the road upgrade,” he revealed.
