Telecommunication Company Airtel Uganda have unveiled their new Managing Director Anwar Soussa who replaces Tom Gutjahr. The latter’s term of service closes with this month.

“I hope to build on the trust that customers have in the company and continue with the legacy that Airtel has in Uganda.”
The new boss said teamwork with other employees would be a great key during his tenure at the company.

Speaking at the function on Friday, Gutjahr said it has been a worthwhile experience in Uganda whose people he described as loving.
He said he was happy for leaving a mark in the telecommunication sector in the country and that he has left the company in good position to compete favorably with other players in the market.
“We have been able to have a huge catch up in Airtel money plus putting in place over 1000km of optic fiber which is a big achievement in the last 2 years,” he said.
He noted that he would be joining another telecommunications company in Algeria where he was in January appointed as the Managing Director.
The new Airtel Uganda boss Anwar Soussa has been the boss for Airtel Chad since May 2015 after joining the company from MTN Cyprus.
