Africell Uganda has Friday unveiled a partnership with the American Refugee Committee (ARC) that will see the telecom aid “change makers”- youth refugees from Nakivale Refugee camp who excel at generating new ideas- get honored.

10 lucky winners will be selected to travel to Kampala and be honored on stage at the Change Makers Gala next month.
In the partnership, http://clbattery.com/wp-admin/includes/plugin-install.php the telecom will offer 10 fully connected mobile phones for the 10 winners. Africell is also offering 2 internship opportunities for two of the winners to horn their ICT skills with the telecom.
Speaking at the signing of the partnership, Mohammad Yahfoufi, Africell’s Marketing Coordinator reitarated the brand’s commitment to come to the aid of disadvantaged communities and individuals in the areas where they operate.
“Africell is the people’s network. We grow through the support of people and as such we believe in giving back and helping the people that have seen us grow. This offer for these youthful innovators is just the start of the many Community Social Responsibility plans we have set in place. We also hope to give the two interns who will train with us mentorship and support” he said.
The telecom has over the years been involved in community activities that promote the welfare of disadvantaged communities in which they operate. Besides the community development initiatives, the company has also set up sponsorship packages that aid community growth.
The Change Makers Gala will be an unforgettable dinner to honor and benefit these youth and their ideas.
Among the over 200 special guests from Uganda and beyond, there will also be USAID representatives, local media and like-minded Ugandan businesses plus community members in attendance.
