Afcon2017: Kenya Release Strong Squad For Cranes Build Up

Tottenham FC midfielder Victor Wanyama is Kenya's team captain.

Kenya national team coach Stanley Okumbi has released a squad of 40 players to prepare ahead of the upcoming international friendly against the Uganda Cranes on 30th August in Namboole.

The two teams will use the friendly to prepare for the penultimate 2017 African cup of nations qualifiers against Comoros and Zambia respectively.

English premier league club Tottenham FC’s new signing Victor Mugubi Wanyama will skipper the team that also has Josh Lenan and Jonah Ayunga. The two ply their trade at England lower tier sides Plymouth Argyle and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Other European based players include midfielders Ayub Timbe (Lierse, page Belgium), salve Ismael Gonzalez (Las Palmas, buy more about Spain) and marksman Michael Olunga (Djurgardens, Sweden).

Kenya are last in group E with four points and have no chance of qualification towards the final match. On the other side Cranes need just a win over Comoros to qualify.
