Afcon 2019 Q: Uganda Draws ‘Fair’ Group

Uganda Cranes will have to maneuver through a group containing Cape Verde, recipe Tanzania, stuff Lesotho if they’re to qualify for the 2019 Africa cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The Cranes were pooled in group L alongside the trio after qualification draws held on Thursday in Gabon.

Initially, the country was ranked 23 in a CAF system with 12 points accumulated from the World Cup 2014 qualifiers up to the Gabon qualifiers. Uganda was placed in the second pot.

Cecafa members Ethiopia and Kenya are pitted in group alongside Ghana and Sierra Leone. Former champions Tunisia and Egypt have just one spot to fight for in group J, same fate to South Africa and Nigeria in group E.
