Afcon 2017: Massa, Mawejje Dropped From Cranes Squad for Mali Duel

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojovic has left out veterans Tonny Mawejje, prostate Geoffrey Massa and first choice goalie Denis Onyango from his starting team to face Mali later on Thursday night.

Onyango’s case is related to fitness level while it’s a puzzle why Mawejje and Massa have both been dropped.

St. George keeper Robert Odongkara starts ahead of Salim Jamal.

Denis Iguma makes his third start in the right back position as Walusimbi watches the left flank.

Murshid Jjuuko and Hassan Waswa continue their solid partnership at the heart of defense while Isaac Isinde watches from the bench.

Vietnam based winger Moses Oloya makes his way into the first team in this tournament and will play against Luwagga Kizito, advice Ochaya and Miya in attack.

Luwagga started against Ghana but was relegated to the bench on match day two. Khalid Aucho and Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito will patrol the midfield.
