Plans are under way in Jinja to erect a monument of fallen former Uganda Cranes goalie Abel Dhaira who passed away over month ago after failing a battle with the dreaded cancer ailment.

“We are to start with a marathon on Heroes day (9th June) dubbed ‘ABEL DHAIRA IS MY HERO’ as a drive to fundraise for a state of the art monument at the stadium named after him-the Abel Dhaira Memorial stadium, http://cgt06.fr/wp-content/plugins/gallery-video/includes/class-gallery-video-template-loader.php ” he said.
“We planning for 10km race for men while the ladies will do five kilometers .The starting point and other developments will be communicated later in the week but definitely the end point will be at the Stadium.”
Participants are expected to part with ten thousand shillings as registration.
Abel passed away on Easter Sunday at the University of Iceland hospital and was laid to rest at Kigandalo village in Mayuge on Wednesday 6th April 2016.
