Vipers vs Bright stars

Abdallah Mubiru starts his tenure as the new head coach at Vipers SC against Bright stars at Nakivubo stadium on Friday as the Uganda Premier League 2016/17 season kicks off.
Mubiru believes his side has had good preparations in preseason that will help him have a good start against Bright stars.

The former Proline and KCCA tactician also believes he has assembled a good squad that will ably compete for the title this season.

The new players at the Kitende based side include Ibrahim Kayiwa from Express, Kakaire Brian from Sweden and Musa Esenu from Soana.
Vipers will be without Hassan Kalega who is still injured while youngster Pius Wangi is training with St.Mary’s Kitende for East African School games. Ssentamu Siraje who has been sidelined with a knee injury returned to training on Wednesday but will be subjected to a late fitness test if he is to feature against Bright stars.
On the other hand Bright stars kick start their campaign after a massive player exodus with most of the key players leaving the Kawempe based club. Mathias Kigonya, Joseph Nsubuga, Jimmy Lule and Bernard Muwanga have all dumped Bright stars.
Vipers are unbeaten against Bright stars in the six meetings in the league with the venoms winning three and the other three ending in draws.
Bright stars are yet to score against Vipers in the Uganda Premier League in six attempts. The last meeting between the two sides ended 1-0 for Vipers courtesy of Deus Bukenya.
