Who is Dj 4our 5ive?

DJ 4our 5ive is a constant force in the music world, especially the world of Hip Hop. Born in the Bronx, he got his first exposure to hip hop at its early stages, while going to parties in the Bronx River Projects where Africa Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation did their thing.

This is where he first witnessed DJ’s, Rappers, and B Boys showcase their skills at neighborhood events.

It was then his fascination for hip hop began.

After relocating to Brentwood, NY, he began his mastery of the turntables when he and his boys started a DJ crew called Freeze Force.

He assumed the name DJ K-La Boss and he and his crew set out to DJ local parties on Long Island, New York… 4our 5ive’s notable talent created a buzz that naturally caught the attention of the Rap Duo EPMD, who later had him lay scratches on their debut album Strictly Business, released in 1988.

His success with EPMD led to collaborations with high school friend Craig Mack and Bad Boy Entertainment.

Building on the momentum of the Grammy nominated “Flava in Ya Ear” single, 4our 5ive parlayed his talents onto the “Big Mack” tour serving as the premier DJ for Craig Mack.

He went on to be the official DJ for the 1994 “Bad Boy” tour which included: Total, Craig Mack, Junior M.A.F.I.A, Lil’ Kim and The Notorious B.I.G… Throughout the 90’s, he kept busy producing music, touring, and captivating audiences with his superior skills on the turntables.

He toured with Mase to promote the multi-platinum debut album Harlem World, toured with Lil Cease on his solo project, and Lil’ Kim on her Notorious K.I.M and La Bella Mafia albums.

He also worked with Untertainment Records which included: Charli Baltimore, Cam’Ron, and Jim Jones.

In 1999 4our 5ive’s scratches were featured on P. Diddy’s forever album and spun for the overseas tour.

4our 5ive continues to works with Diddy on various projects… 4our 5ive’s transition into the new millennium garnered him more success and greater opportunities to showcase his talent.

In 2001, he spun the turntables for P. Diddy’s “United We Stand” concert, as well as Diddy’s 2002 televised performance during MTV’s “Staying Alive” HIV/AIDS benefit concert.
