Sandra Kyomusimire, a primary three student at St Jude Nakasozi Primary School has since been admitted to Mulago Hospital in critical condition.
After administering poison to her children on Saturday (April 4), Arinaitwe also attempted to take her life but was rushed at Mulago Referral Hospital where she is admitted.
According to the neighbors, Arinaitwe said she had decided to kill her children due to being mistreated by her husband.
She further argued she did not have enough income to sustain their children’s wellbeing.
Arinaitwe’s husband identified as Dan Taremwa blamed this act on his wife’s drunkenness.
“I told her to stop drinking but she refused. All the issues she claimed to have influenced her to act in such a manner are not true,” said Taremwa.
Angella Kentaro, one of eyewitnesses told Chimpreports: “This lady has behaved as if she is not a parent, if she was tired of life she would have killed herself and left the kids.”
Nsangi Police Station Commander James Salaam confirmed the incident: “We have deployed security in Mulago to make sure that this lady who is suspected to have poisoned her children doesn’t escape. After treatment we are going to produce her before court.”
