Drivers had planned to boycott the event supposing, organisers had let him compete. Lwakataka disappeared with comment as regards why he had broken FMU rules on two accounts.

The event has also suffered another blow after Wycliffe Bukenya was also ruled out for an engine problem suffered by his car late Friday evening. Nasser Mutebi who had also registered pulled out on the events day.

Meanwhile popular ‘Kirasha’, a fan-stand made of wood this morning fell with scores of rally fans getting severe injuries though no deaths were confirmed. The structure was constructed one year back but had no inspection before the MPU event.

Sunday will have the bigger portions of the MPU Masaka Rally covered with the Prize giving ceremony also on card in the evening.
