Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Idi Ibin Ssenkumbi, says detectives suspect Hajara was beheaded by her estranged husband indentified as David Kizito.
“The neighbours say Kizito, who is now at large, was in company of the deceased past midnight in their house. A panga was found beside Hajara’s deathbed.”
The incident, which has sent shockwaves across the village, reportedly occurred at around 2:00am.

Ssenkumbi told Chimpreports today Hajara was originally married to a one Abdu Wahabu and had three children with him before meeting Kizito.
“We suspect that when the boyfriend found out that the woman was playing him with Wahabu, he decided to murder her. Investigations are still under way,” said Ssenkumbi.
Eyewitnesses say Hajara was stabbed several times in the neck and stomach before her throat was cut off.
“The sharp knife was used to sever her head. It was a horrifying blood-spattered spectacle,” said an eyewitness.
The murderer tied Hajara’s hands from the back before slicing her body into pieces.
Police are yet to hold suspects.
According to the Annual Crime, Traffic and Road Safety Report of 2011, at least 10 people are killed every day in Uganda.
The report further indicates out of 1,987 cases investigated by police, 3,753 people were killed in 2011 compared to 1,761 cases in 2010, where 3,160 people died.
