According to Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson, Ibin Senkumbi, Turinawe went to Paka Forex Bureu in Bugolobi to exchange the US $11,000 but when the forex bureau attendants realized that 10,000 dollars of that amount was fake, they immediately alerted the security.

He was interrogated until he revealed that he had gotten the money from his boss, Denis Tembo and there was even more fake money at the office.

On Saturday, Police decided to search their offices and they recovered a small safe in one of their offices with 2million fake US dollars of 100 notes. Turinawe was then driven to USA Embassy in Nsambya to test whether the dollars were fake because the money had a USA Seal which gave the notes a legal entity and one could easily think they are real.

Senkumbi said these three men were interrogated by Ugandan security agencies in collaboration with the USA Embassy because it was interested in knowing the kind of people who were tarnishing its image in public.

Senkumbi said counterfeit businesses are against the law in Uganda and if discovered by the Police, would be arrested. He said the Police is going to start investigating all the security companies who deal in counterfeit money.

The East KMP CID boss Mark Bogere also assured our Chimp Corp that the Police has already started investigating these companies and if discovered, they would take away their licenses.
