The children immediately run and called the father of the deceased only known as Balyano but unfortunately he couldn’t do anything to save the little boy or even recover the body.
They later informed the Police which came and recovered the body from the pond.
Kampala Central Police spokesperson, Lamech Kigozi has cautioned all parents not to neglect their children because it is an offence before the law.
He said that investigations into this matter are still going on and if the parents of Kato are found to have neglected this child or could have in any way avoided this death, they will be prosecuted.
Deaths of this nature have continued to show up, and even last year a teacher at his school’s end of year party drowned at forest beach waters in Entebbe, as he went to get the ball they were playing with which had fallen into water.
Police therefore continues to warn all those who have fish ponds at their homes not to have deep waters because the soil in it can be too sticky and one can easily get stuck there.
