Police Hunts Leaders Of The Victoria Basin Circle

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday at Police Headquarters in Kampala, Kayihura said so far they have arrested Rakai Chairperson Mr. Robert Benon Mugabi who was one of the leaders of the circle. He added that a number of people have been robbed in a similar way some of which would be promised scholarships, others jobs outside the country. He called upon the public to stand warned of such con men.

In relation to the above, Police has arrested Evelyn Nakigozi who poses as a secretary of Hope Trust Uganda, after their organisation robbed millions of money from their clients in Wakiso District.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Idi Ibin Ssenkumbi, this organisation claims they have certificates to operate which they obtained from the District headquarters of Wakiso.

But when Police investigated about the documents, they found out that they were not valid and the group does not give out genuine bursaries as they stipulate.

Also on Monday, Police arrested suspected eight con stars in Entebbe identified as Christopher Yiga, Isaac Ssekito, Bugembe Seguya and a one Agnes.

According to Edga Nyabongo, Entebbe Police Commander, the unscrupulous idivduals target mainly UN workers in Entebbe who have a lot money.
