The rebels at around 11:00am penetrated through Goma and seized the strategic airport there.

They later marched on Goma streets without any military response from government forces. They had fled.

Museveni has been chairing meetings of regional Presidents aimed at finding a lasting political solution to the DRC crisis.

He personally contacted M23 leadership to cease fire, pending negotiations with Kinshasha.

Rebels claim Kabila’s forces exploited the lull in the fighting to reorganize and launch attacks on their positions in Rugari.
