Senkumbi added police was ready to offer all the necessary security that is required at the Rehabilitation Centre in Kireka where the consultative meeting is to take place.
He also appealed to FDC supporters to maintain discipline and respect the rights of other people who are not party to the rally.
“But if Mafabi and his people disrupt peace in the area and infringe on others’ rights, we shall have to intervene and stop the function,” he cautioned.
Police have in the past denied opposition politicians space to hold rallies, citing security reasons.
