The matter got to the floor following a request by MP Odonga Otto to have the report of the Appointments Committee on the approval of ministers named by the President.
Nantaba was approved by the Parliamentary Appointments Committee chaired by Oulanya a couple of weeks ago.
She had earlier been rejected by the same committee for showing contempt of it during the vetting exercise.
Activists say according to the Parliamentary Rules of Procedures, Nantaba’s case should have been forwarded to Parliament for plenary debate but not calling for the committee’s meeting again under Oulanya.
During the session, MP Abdu Katuntu called for the Committee on Appointments to be opened to Parliament and the entire public.
He said the house needs to revisit its rules of procedure.
“Appointments Committee should be public and the reports from this committee be subjected to debate,” said Katuntu.
