order geneva; font-size: small;”>The medical facility’s publicist Enock Kusasira confirmed that Francis and Robert passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday due to breathing difficulties.

“The conjoined twins were sharing a heart, lungs and liver which negatively impacted their respiratory system. They could not take breaths normally,” observed Kusasira.

Born to 38-year-old Olivia Kamin and Robert Kyaligonza on October 15 at Buhinga Hospital in Kabarole district, the twins were receiving special treatment and care at the Intensive Care Unit of Mulago awaiting separation.

A source at the hospital said the twins’ death was “inevitable” considering that they shared critical organs especially the heart.

Chimp Corps say Francis and Robert follow in the footsteps of two other pairs of conjoined twins from Ngora and Kabarole districts to die at Mulago.
