MPs Target Mbabazi In Kazinda Scam

Bigirimana was not readily available for comment.

Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi said government supports the forensic audit as proposed by Parliament but does not support the interdiction of Bigirimana.

He promised to inform Parliament of the government’s stand when Parliament reconvenes on Tuesday next week.

MP Felix Okot Ogong has moved the motion which he said sought to streamline the management of PRDP.

MP Mike Mukula alleged that costs incurred for the hydrofarm houses constructed for 54 chiefs in northern Uganda were grossly inflated.

However, investigations by Chimpreports indicates that the each of the houses cost government only Shs15m.

It appears there could be a showdown between the Executive and Parliament next week, considering that most President Yoweri Museveni has on several occassions publicly showed his admiration for Bigirimana for turning around Northern Uganda with developmental projects under the PRDP.

Source say MPs are not only interested in Bigirimana’s head but also kicking out Mbabazi for his alleged “political responsibility” in the OPM scam.

This mission is being coordinated by MP Mike Mukula and Lwemiyaga MP Theodore Ssekikuubo, all political enemies of the Prime Minister.

In fact during the session, some lesgilators said Mbabazi is to blame for the mess at OPM.
