MOVIE REVIEW: Moonrise Kingdom

sick http://creativecommons.org/wp-content/plugins/gravityformspaypal/class-gf-paypal.php geneva;”>Wes Anderson movies aren’t just movies, medications http://creechsgarden.com/components/com_k2/templates/default/tag.php they are cinematic events. He is one of the truly original filmmakers of our generation. I use the word original, drug http://cirgroup.com/typo3conf/ext/dam/tests/tx_dam_base_testcase.php mind you because it’s the only word in the English dictionary that comes close to describing what a Wes Anderson movie really is.

Hauntingly Beautiful, Moonrise Kingdom is a 2012 feature film directed by Wes Anderson. It was written by the director in partnership with Frank Ford Coppola, the famous director of the Godfather movies. Featuring an all star cast, it still manages to feel intimate and human.

Set in 1965 New England, the movie tells the story of a young orphan boy named Sam and a young girl named Suzy who fall in love and decide to run away together. The film follows them on their journey whilst revealing the almost comical efforts of every single person on the island to find them. Despite its innocent themes of love and young rebellion, Moonrise Kingdom does have some very dark elements. Sam is a social outcast simply because he doesn’t have a home or family, Suzy feels, correctly, that her family might not want her whilst the adults, from the local sheriff, Suzy’s parents and Sam’s scout master are deeply depressed.

Mixing French pop, epic orchestra music and a visual innocence rarely seen in movies today. Wes Anderson creates a masterpiece of cinema. The writing is superb and so is the acting. A must watch.

Rating: Totally Interested.
