Desh is wanted by police for reportedly torturing to death his employee, Badru Kateregga, at his Panamera Bar and Restaurant in Naguru, a Kampala suburb last month.
Police last Tuesday said the bar which had been closed to allow thorough search and smooth investigations into the murder of the barman had been reopened after reconstructing the murder scene.
“The place was closed to get any possible exhibits. Police has done its work and got all the necessary evidence from the place to pin Kananura for the murder. The public should also know that the bar had several people holding shares there and not only Desh. The shareholders were not part of the murder and therefore their rights had to be honored,” police said in a statement.
Speaking to journalists today, Ssenkumbi expressed confidence that they had gathered enough evidence from the bar, including testimonies of employees to pin Desh.
“So we are calling on the general public to notify us in case they know where Kananura is hiding,” Ssenkumbi urged the nation.
“We are still looking for Desh and whoever has information about his whereabouts, he can pass that information in confidence on toll free lines: 0800199399, 0800199699, or 0714667787.”
Ssenkumbi’s statement could restore public confidence in Police which many thought had feared to arrest the businessman and ensure the relatives and friends of Kateregga get justice.
