The Factory imports spare parts from Czech Republic and use them to make Moldboard ploughing machines, harrowing tractors, planters and seeders and harvesters. Managers of the factory told the Premier that they also organize training tours across the country in collaboration with the ministry of Agriculture.

Habumuremyi asked owners of the factory to increase production in order to enable Rwandan farmers to get tractors at an affordable price.

He further urged the introduction of some modern methods including sales, hiring, hire purchase, leasing and others that bring about increased use of tractors in Rwanda.

The Minister of Agriculture Dr. Agnes Kalibata said this is in line with the country’s efforts to promote mechanized agriculture.

Minister Kalibata went on saying that the ministry of agriculture is soon completing a tractor assembly plant. The plant will be producing hand operated tractors that can be easily used in hilly areas.
