FDC: 50 Youth Leaders Arrested By Police

Wafula said that some of the senior leaders who have been victims include Col. Kizza Besigye, MP Mohammed Nsereko, at their homes and the youth leaders who are at Nakasongola police station include John Sebbale, Esther Nantege, Vincent Ssebaggala among others.

“Last week when eight FDC supporters were taken to Kampala Central Police Station, we went there to talk to the Police Commander Andrew Kaweesi to release them but it all was in vain,” said Wafula.

He said that after waiting for four hours, police secretly smuggled the victims to Nabweru and then to Kasangati police station.

Wafula also said that because of them insisting and pressurizing the police, a few have been released however more are still in prison and others they don’t know the where about.

He also commented on the FDC opinion polls saying that they have nothing to do with people’s opinion but will support any candidate who will be the winner.

Wafula stressed on the issue on corruption and misappropriation of government funds in Uganda saying that all the implicated officials should step aside and resign from their positions.

“It is ethically and morally right if the accused people took it as their responsibility and step aside so further investigations are made,” he said.
