The University of London International Programmes which was founded in 1858 offers degree, certificate and diploma programmes for students studying through distance and flexible learning modes globally.
It is a collaboration between the University of London International Academy, a central university academic body and 12 of the 18 constituent member Colleges of the University of London.
Currently over 52,000 students in 180 countries are studying on over 100 different University of London International Programmes.
Accepted students especially at undergraduate level in need of local institution support that includes face-to-face lectures can sign up with UTAMU.
Baryamureeba said that UTAMU has put in place sufficient qualified academic staff to provide local institution support to the students admitted by University of London to the following programmes with effect from July 2013.
“Applications for the next intake that begins in July 2013 to October 2013 will be open in February 2013. Prospective students must apply online with effect from February 2013,” he said.
He also said that all to apply for any Bachelor’s degree programme, the applicant must possess a minimum of two Principal passes in the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) and a minimum of 3 credits in the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
“The minimum entry requirement for postgraduate programmes (Postgraduate diplomas and Masters) is a good lower second (2:2) honors degree from a recognized University,” said Baryamureeba.
UTAMU will in addition provide local support to any other programme with at least 10 students in need of local teaching support.
In addition to what is provided to the prospective students by the University of London, UTAMU will also provide career guidance and any information the prospective students may need locally through either face-to-face contact or e-mail or telephone.
Some of the undergraduate programmes that are offered at University of London include Bachelor of Laws (LLB), B.Sc. Accounting and Finance, B.Sc. Development and Economics, B.Sc. Economics, B.Sc. Information Systems and Management, B.Sc. Management, B.Sc. Business Administration, B.Sc. Computing and Information Systems.
