Sources at State House say Kananura, who is accused of torturing his own employee, Badru Kateregga to death at Panamera Bar and Restaurant in Kampala last month, intends to “tell the whole truth” to Museveni.
Police have mounted the hunt of the shrewd city car dealer after vanishing from public view with detectives suspecting he is attempting to dodge the long arm of the law.
Chimp Corps have confirmed that the President is yet to allow his aides fix an appointment.
Desh, as he is fondly known, intends to deny having a hand in Kateregga’s murder before the President and blame Police for not taking adequate steps to save his bar attendant’s life.
Desh argues his Kateregga was killed by a security guard.
Knowledgeable sources say Desh also wants to tell the President that Police have been harassing him and are concocting evidence to secure his conviction on a manslaughter case.
“I don’t think the President will meet Desh. He last month directed the IGP (Lt Gen Kale Kayihura) to investigate this matter and ensure justice prevails,” our source at State House said.
Desh was recently spotted in Bukoto, a Kampala suburb, after weeks of reported hiding in Dubai.
The businessman fled the country last month through the Uganda border town of Malaba before boarding a Dubai-bound plane in Nairobi.
At least three men who are said to have aided the businessman in torturing his bar attendant Kateregga to death were arrested last week.
Two of them have been identified as Cyrus Muganda, 28 and Jacob Onyango, 32.
Sources in Police said the men are also employees of the blood stained Panamera Bar and were picked up from a hideout in Nakawa where they had been hiding since the murder took place.
They are now jailed at Kiira Road Police Station pending investigations into the murder.
The source said some of the statements recorded by the arrested suspects are likely to pin the tycoon in the killing of Kateregga, adding, if Kananura continues exhibiting determination to escape the long arm of the law and fall short of handing himself to the authorities, he could face murder charges.
Kananura is a flamboyant tycoon known for living a lavish life, splashing money in exclusive night spots and cruising state-of-the art rides.
