Everything and everywhere was yellow, look ” said Bamwenda.
He also said the government spent a huge chunk of money in these celebrations when many people are dying of hunger in the country.
“Museveni and his wife arrived in a Shs 2 billion vehicle, when people are starving with poverty with no medicine in hospitals”.
Bamwenda said that Museveni talked about democracy in Uganda, yet he is acting the opposite of what he preaches.
“How could he talk about democracy when Col. Kizza Besigye and Erias Lukwago were confined at their homes and FDC supporters in police cells on Independence Day?” he lamented.
Two FDC supporters and seven activists spent 8 days at Central Police Station (CPS) after they had been arrested in Kisekka Market for reportedly inciting violence while accompanying Col. Kizza Besigye in walk to freedom protests on October 4.
He also said the 10 years programme given by Museveni on Independence Day will never be fulfilled just like everything he promises.
“It’s a pack of lies which he has been feeding Ugandans for the last 24 years,” said Bamwenda.
