Uganda @50: Army Takes Over Kampala Security

All public places especially shopping malls such as Garden City, Oasis Mall, Ministries, city road junctions, hospitals and other strategic places are being secured by armed personnel.

Our Corps witnessed thousands of Ugandans in Kampala’s downtown shopping for the pre-Independence celebration weekend.

Sources in security say sniffer dogs will this weekend comb the city of any possible explosives.

The Inspector General of Police Lt Gen Kale Kayihura last week assured the nation that all necessary preparations had been fulfilled to guard the city from any attacks.
