Ndyabahika was arrested on Friday evening in Bukoto in possession of 90 duplicate hotel keys, 10 car keys, a Sierra Leone passport.

His identification particulars showed he was in charge of security for foreign visitors under United Nations in the Great Lakes region.

Ndyabahika would charge the foreign visitors huge sums of money claiming to provide their security during their upcountry trips.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Ibin Ssenkumbi, says on August 7, Ndyabahika booked a room at Villas Hotel in Kololo where he robbed its clients.

The room where Ndyabahika resided was directly opposite the one occupied by Amnesty International officials who were visiting Uganda.

It never occurred to Ndyabahika that the theft had been recorded on CCTV cameras and would soon be apprehended by detectives.

“We therefore urge all hotels, lodges and all those who operate accommodation business to register all their clients if they are to use their services,” says Ssenkumbi.
