U.S Trains Uganda Detectives On Crime Scene Investigation

Akullo in her remarks pointed out the challenges that Scenes of Crime Officers face which include poor handling of exhibits due to lack of knowledge, lack of skills in handling complex cases like the 11th July 2010 bombing in Kampala, and interference by relatives of the victims who destroy the Scene of Crime before Police reaches.

The course is organized by the United States Government and attracted 22 participants.

Akullo thanked the US government for supporting the Force in organizing the course that attracted participants from all over the country.

The CID has since been under heavy criticism for failing to assemble concrete evidence during investigations of high profile cases thus enabling criminals to evade prosecution.
