Maureen Rugyendo, a close relative of the deceased, told Chimpreports News Desk on Monday that Mutekanga had gone to “Aero beach in Entebbe with his campus friends to have some fun.”
Rugyendo said Mutekanga was the first born of his parents and only boy of 6 children.
“He was a very intelligence boy,” recounts Rugyendo.
Rugyendo further said there would be a funeral service today 1pm at St. Augustine Chapel, Makerere.
Makerere University’s Public Relations Officer, Ritah Namisango and Maria Roselyn Muzaaki, the College of Computing and Information Sciences publicist, were not readily available for comment.
The College’s Head Corporate Relations officer Michael Niyitegeka said he was not aware about the incident.
He maintained that beach bashes are organized by students, making it hard “to account for students who were there.”
This is a developing story. More details will be posted as events unfold

While it was claimed the singer succumbed to peptic ulcers, a postmortem report released by Mulago says otherwise and has been dismissed as “inconclusive.”
To establish the real cause of Sera’s death, one would need further toxicological tests.
That aside, Sera’s parents had to fight hard and at times resort to press to pressurize Mulago Referral Hospital to release the postmortem report.
Sera was signed under Swangz Avenue, a Kampala based music label.

Police last month claimed to have asked Swanz boss, Julius Kyazze, to record a statement as part of a wider investigation into Sera’s death.
Media reports had earlier indicated that Kyazze, who is said to have been Sera’s lover, met Sera shortly before “Uganda’s Madonna” passed away.

“Yes, it’s true our detectives at Kampala CPS interrogated Kyazze in connection with Sera’s death. Investigations are underway,” Ssenkumbi told us late last month.
Chimp Corps have now learned that Sera’s father, John Kakooza, has resorted to a private investigator in search of the truth of what really happened on July 31.

An Estates Manager at Cham Towers in Kampala, Kakooza hopes that by spending his hard-earned money on an investigator who sits at Uganda House, will bring out the truth.
“Kakooza’s heart was shattered by his daughter’s untimely demise. Only the truth can heal it. All he wants is to know what really killed his lovely daughter,” said a family friend.
The mysterious death developed another twist last week when news filtered in that Kyazze had taken off to United Kingdom.

But in an interview with our investigations desk, Kyazze said the media has been awash with falsehoods about Sera’s tragic demise.
Kyazze also confirmed that he was in Uganda, contrary to reports that he had fled.
He rubbished reports that Sera had taken “coffee,” (an insinuation that the drink was laced with poison) at Swangz Avenue, saying she had even spent two weeks without stepping at the recording label’s headquarters in Kampala.

“We shall soon come out with our facts. We don’t want to engage in a media war. Our time to tell the truth will come. You will have to be a bit patient,” said the soft-spoken Kyazze.
Nevertheless, Sera’s death rattled the nation and hurt her fans, who looked at her as a source of inspiration.
